What's that? Me blogging two days in a row? Yep! You're reading right.
Today was Haleigh's Christmas party at her school. So, last night we baked cookies. And I don't mean that we broke apart cookie dough from the package and spread icing from a can. (not that there's anything wrong with that) We made it all homemade, even the icing. It is probably one of the memories I have with her that I will cherish the most. She had so much fun - she was such a helper and just seemed to enjoy every moment of it. I didn't receive one second of attitude from her the entire 2 1/2 hours that we were baking. It was splendid!
Since I started this blog with the intention of using it to hold me accountable with our debt freedom plan, I guess I should maybe update that aspect of our life. Recently, (as in last weekend) we had to get our entire house re-piped. $1800 later, I was stressing. I was thinking to myself that we will never be debt free because we can never seem to catch a break and blah blah blah. And then it hit me - at least we have a home. We knew what we were signing up for when we bought this house, it is an older home and lets face it there are going to have to be repairs. So why was I acting like such a cry baby when I know that we will ultimately be taken care of even if we don't have as much money in our bank account as we'd like. Actually I have to give credit to my wonderful husband for putting things into perspective to me. Does it suck that his happened 1 1/2 weeks before Christmas? Yes. But will we be living in a box tomorrow? No, we'll be living in our newly re-piped home. And for that, I should be grateful.
With that being said, our debt snowball has not decreased much in the past few months. BUT, I am excited to announce that I will be student teaching in the spring! As of 4/22/09 I will be a certified teacher. That in itself is so incredibly exciting because once I begin teaching our income will practically double and we will be able to wipe out our debt (Lord-willing) in about one school year. We will continue to live just as we are now and use my salary to pay everything off. Please pray for us in 2009 - that we will trust in the Lord to provide for us during my student teaching and also that He will provide a teaching job for me in the fall! Blessings!

A Review of 2008
Well, I am a terrible blogger, and that is a fact. My life has been pure chaos lately and it seems like it is starting to calm down. I know that sounds crazy because this is one of the busiest times of the year, but we have decided to try to take things slower and do this little thing called enjoy life instead of just rushing through it.
Anyways, 2008 has been a great year for us. We have so much to be thankful for and are more blessed than we ever imagined we could be. During this year, we have survived our oldest daughter starting Pre-K, our youngest starting EHS, my hubby changing companies, me going back to work full time(for the most part), our plumbing in our home being completely replaced(ouch!), and many other things that some might not look at as blessings. To us though, all of these things have been blessings. So, here's to 2009 being a productive year that pleases the Lord!!
On another note, I will be student teaching in the spring. I am very excited, but a little nervous. I think that it will be one of the most difficult times for us because I will be losing all of my income and working a full time job with no pay for 12 weeks. It is one of those things that has light at the end of the tunnel though because once I am finished, I will officially be a certified teacher and can get one of those things called a REAL job. I am looking forward to it. In my heart, I desire to be a stay-at-home mom for the rest of my life but I know that in this season of our lives that is just not the most feasible thing for us as a family. God is good though, and I know that he will provide for us in every aspect of our lives. Besides, teaching will still provide me lots of quality time with my children because I will be off when they are off. Why didn't I marry a doctor?! (just kidding, of course)
Our oldest daughter is turning 5 in exactly 2 weeks. I'm not sure how I will handle it, but I am pretty sure tears will be involved. She has grown up so quickly and I just don't know where the time has gone.
Well, that's all for now. I pray that all of your lives are blessed this Christmas season!!
