oh rainy saturday, you make my heart happy...

It has been raining here all day and it has been so wonderful! I don't always love the rain, especially when it sticks around for several days...but a rainy saturday was just what I needed today!

Hubby and our oldest girl are at a swim meet, baby girl is napping, and I am doing all of the things I do (or don't do-ha!) on Saturdays: laundry, baking, cleaning, etc...

I didn't really mention any personal (as in about ME) updates in my last blog and am not really big on talking about what is happening with me, but I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag. NO, I'm NOT pregnant!! Geez, people!

I've finally got a grip on my health. Okay, God got a grip on my mind and thus I was able to make progress in an area that I have struggled with my entire life: body issues, also known as self image issues, or just being a girl. Since the birth of our second daughter, I have hung onto a LOT of extra weight that I wanted gone so badly but just didn't have the self control, motivation, or courage to do what I needed to do to take care of it.

Let me back up a notch.. In April, I began a really intense workout program that most of you have probably heard of:P90X. I did it, faithfully, 6 days a week, at 4 in the morning sometimes and I was dedicated. I was going to do this. And I did, for 7 weeks straight. For those of you non-mathmeticians like myself, you will now deduce that I did not finish because 7 week < 90 days. You're right. I burned out. Why? because I lost NOTHING! And I was frustrated. The reason I lost nothing? Because I ate whatever I wanted. In my mind, I justified what I ate by the fact that I was busting my hiney working out every day so therefore I should be able to eat whatever I wanted and still see results. Right? WRONG!

Now it's mid-June and I am flustered, annoyed, and have thrown my hands up. So I decide to throw fitness out the window at that time. And it took me a couple of weeks, but I dedided to turn my attention to nutrition. So I did it. I joined Weight Watchers on July 10. I started losing weight instantly, because WW is a proven plan that works if you stick to it. So I did. And it worked.

In August, I was at my brother's house doing some blog stalking reading and I came across this . So I applied and then this happened! They chose me! WOW! (you will have to click on the links if you want to have any clue what I'm talking about :) they explain it much better than me!)I was pumped. After all, I was already losing weight by following the WW plan and there WAS a time in my life that I was super fit (read: in high school and pre-babies) so I might as well give it a shot!

SO, August 16th I embarked on yet another fitness journey! I am here to tell you, this program has blessed my life in SO many ways. I am able to work out consistently, become stronger, feel better, and still be able to do all of the other things in my crazy life (wife, mom, teacher, and the list goes on...) because each workout is done in 30 minutes or less. I haven't had the typical 'burn out' phase because of other awesome features regarding this program, and I just plain love it. It (obviously) has not yet been released, but you can get more information by going to www.fitmarriage.com.

Today, 10/23/10, I have lost 24 pounds and feel better than I have in 4+ years. This journey is far from over and I still have so much left to lose but with the support from my Weight Watchers meetings, Fit Marriage , the Lord, my totally awesome husband (who has been such an encouragement through all of this) and the rest of my friends/family I can honestly say that I am headed in the right direction!!

And now that this has turned into a novel, I hope you all have an exceptionally blessed Saturday!!

.....is anybody out there?....

SO. I am a super sucky blogger, even though I love it! Life is crazy. busy. awesome. and SO different from when I started this blog 2 years ago.

A few updates:
*It's already late October! Okay, you knew that-but seriously where has this year gone?!?!
*Our kids are getting too big, too fast. almost 7 and almost 4. wow..
*My hubby recently graduated from a fire academy. He's on the job search..
*We are praying for a job here, but are open to moving, so...that is definetely scary, exciting, etc. I am just so happy for him that he is finally pursuing a career that he is excited about and desires to do versus taking a job because he has to.
*God has provided for our family beyond what we deserve. (not really an update, more like a shout out) :)

I hope everyone is loving this wonderful fall weather! Blessings!
